Team Video Production
- Melbourne and Sydney
For a complete change from the usual
indoor Team Building activities, how about developing a Team
Video production Melbourne or Sydney.
We offer other unique team Building activities in Melbourne
and Sydney including Corporate
Sailing Regattas Melbourne and Sydney, Yacht Charters
Sydney and Melbourne and Team
Building Cooking Classes Melbourne and Sydney.
Participants learn the importance of working together to
work together to produce their own Video promoting the team
or the organisation in one of the most exciting and innovative
projects they will ever undertake.
Some Team Video themes include:
- Promote the teams purpose or role
in the organisation
- Introduce team members and their
backgrounds, special skills and talents.
- Develop a Corporate Video for
sales campaigns or promotions
- Produce a training video for a
product or service
- Showcase company executives or
customers
- Just a bit of fun for the next
team gathering or conference
You've always wanted to be on the "big screen", well here's
your chance. Building a team video is a collaborative project
involving many aspects of team skills.
Roles for team members include:
- Director
- Camera Operator
- Sound Engineer
- Lighting Director
- Script supervisor
- Location Manager
- Props Manager
- Wardrobe
- Actors and spokespeople
- Special Effects and Stunts
Teams can be made up of between 4 and 20 members, in single
or multiple roles as called for by the script. This can be
a challenging project and will highlight the utmost importance
of the teamwork to produce a professional result.but it's
also a lot of fun.
Designing
the Course

Each course is designed specifically
to meet the needs and objectives and time constraints of the
team. The course is normally run over 2 days, but can
be run in a single day with a bit of pre-work and preparation.
The Planning
Process
The first task is for the group to choose a theme from the
options provided and decide on the key messages to be presented
by the team video.
The team are guided through a rapid
script development, which is
then turned into
a storyboard showing scene by scene, the
camera framing, dialogue, action,
background ounds/music/effects, props and location requirements.
Once the team have an understanding of the detailed requirements
of the film shoot, roles are allocated to individuals who
set about gathering the materials they need, or familiarising
themselves with their responsibilities for the shoot.
A number of collaborative meetings
between team members need to happen. The director will need
to meet with the actors to discuss the approach to dialogue
and action. The lighting people will need
to collaborate with
camera operators. The wardrobe manager will
need to collaborate with the props
manager - how many sets of sunglasses and black hats do we
need for the "Blues Brothers" scene?
In some cases locations need to be secured - maybe an internal
meeting room, or a restaurant owned by a friend.
A shooting list is prepared and the team goes into rehearsal
- everyone has a chance to learn how to contribute effectively
to the final result.
There is no room for "prima
donnas" on our production set -
everyone needs to
understand their role and appreciate the
importance of every
component in the final production. Like
everyday business,
there is not a lot of time for second takes -
you either get the shot, or you don't.
The exercise concludes with the set wrap-up celebration and
production de-brief. "Rushes" or un-edited video scenes
are played back to the team during the de-brief. This
is always an exciting and fun part of the process.
The video tape is then edited by
our staff and depending on course structure, either presented
the following day, or at a team
screening organised at your office
shortly afterwards.
The Goal
The goal is for individuals to come together as a team, just
as happens in Hollywood on a large movie production.
Very often movie making is a collaboration of people who have
never worked together.
Each member of the team undertakes something completely new
to them. This creates a level of uncertainty or discomfort,
and means developing a reliance on team members to support
them in achieving their roles and responsibilities.
The end result is a Team Video
that can be played on DVD or on computer, ideal for your next
team meeting, conference, presentation, intranet, website,
or to take home to share with family and friends.
This experience has been proven to
be one of the most exciting and rewarding team building exercises
ever developed. A Team Video is a great way to break
down barriers between management and staff, or inter-departmental
walls.
The Course
We are not trying to develop a Hollywood Blockbuster, but
we are capable of developing a more than acceptable Corporate
Video, Sales Presentation, or short clip that demonstrates
the team's ability to work together under pressure, and have
some fun.
The team will experience the fear of undertaking what to
them will seem like an impossible task, but learn how to break
it down into a manageable project and with teamwork, build
a more than acceptable result.
They will see that
the Director (or Manager back in corporate world) is only
as good as the cast, crew, lighting, sound, script etc., allow
him or her to be, and that working as a team is the most important
factor in being successful.
Sample Schedules
The sample schedule is for a 2 day event where we start from
scratch and develop a total theme and script. A shorter
one day event will require pre-planning and can be found on
the next page.
The course can be managed as a one day event provided a theme,
key messages and script can be developed before the event.
We will work with you to develop this and a storyboard
prior to the event. The storyboard will also highlight
additional equipment/props and resources required which can
be organised and transported to the venue for the activity.
